iPhone 13 is the same model, it is revealed that 2021 Apple iPad Pro mini-LED will support 5G millimeter wave technology

IT Home News on November 26 Foreign media MacRumors reported that DigiTimes cited rumors from sources that Apple’s high-end iPad Pro model to be released in 2021 will have 5G capabilities and support mmWave millimeter wave technology.

There are many rumors that Apple plans to release a 12.9-inch high-end iPad Pro equipped with a mini-LED display next year, and there may also be an 11-inch mini-LED model, but other details have been very few.

According to today’s report, Apple has successfully developed its own mmWave AiP (encapsulated antenna) module for next year’s iPhone product line, which also increases the possibility of benefiting from the next generation of Apple’s iPad series.

Sources said that the design and development of AiP modules are self-sufficient, which means that the next generation of high-end iPad products that Apple will release in 2021 may also be equipped with mmWave technology.

Although there is no specific explanation, considering that 5G is a high-end feature and high production cost, it is almost certain that these models will be iPad Pro.

IT Home is informed that mmWave millimeter wave is a set of 5G frequencies that promise to provide ultra-fast speed in a short distance, so it is most suitable for dense urban areas. In contrast, 5G below 6GHz is generally slower than mmWave, but the signal transmission distance is longer, and it better serves suburban and rural areas. The US version of iPhone 12 Pro/Max models exclusively supports mmWave, and next year’s iPhone 13 series may promote this technology on a larger scale.

According to sources from DigiTimes, Apple’s recent advancement in the development of AiP modules indicates that Apple is furthering its own development of radio frequency front-end (RF-FEM) modules, with the ultimate goal of supplying its own modem equipment.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the supplier will start producing mini-LED displays for the iPad Pro in the fourth quarter of 2020 and is expected to launch in the first half of 2021. DigiTimes also reported that the mini-LED iPad Pro will be launched in early 2021.
