Svetapple.sk has announced that Apple Watch Series 7 (2021 model) is expected to have abolished side buttons, expanded healthcare functions, and extended battery life.

Is the side button abolished?

Analyst Minchey Kuo expects the Apple Watch Series 7 to adopt a new housing design and expand healthcare-related features.

Svetapple.sk expects that the Apple Watch Series 7 chassis design change will eliminate the side buttons and replace them with touch operations using Haptic Touch. The media gives an example of the iPhone 7, where the iPhone’s home button has been changed from a physical button to a pressure-sensitive type that works with the Taptic Engine to reproduce the pseudo-pressed state.

Information from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) shows that Apple has already obtained a patent that led to the abolition of the side button on the Apple Watch.

What are the new healthcare features?

Svetapple.sk hasn’t made a statement about the expanded healthcare features, but it has been rumored for many years to include blood glucose measurement capabilities. Apple has also patented a monitoring system for diabetes and chronic diseases such as high blood pressure.

Svetapple.sk said that the most beneficial thing for users when it comes to Apple Watch Series 7 is the longer battery life, which is expected to last 2-3 days after a full charge. However, considering that the current model Apple Watch Series 6 has a battery life of up to 18 hours, it seems to be quite difficult.
