After updating to iOS14, some users have encountered a problem that they did not receive a notification that they received a text message, and it is still ongoing.
Many have reported similar issues to the support community
This was initially perceived as a problem only for the iPhone 12 series, but later turned out to be occurring on other iPhones as well. Also, the latest OS, iOS 14.3, does not seem to solve the problem.
According to the Apple support community, “When I receive a message, I don’t get a voice notification to notify me of it, and I don’t see a banner. I’m using an iPhone 11 and recently downloaded iOS 14. I’ve reset my iPhone twice so far. At the time of writing this manuscript, 5,404 people clicked the “I have the same question” button in response to the consultation (posted on September 19). There are more than 40 pages of posts by users with similar issues.
Each user has tried various methods, but it seems that they have not reached a fundamental solution. Similar problem reports can be found on Reddit.
The problem may not have been fixed in iOS 14.3
What’s interesting is that Apple has fixed “some MMS messages may not be received” in the release of iOS 14.2.1, US media 9to5Mac points out. At this time, Apple fixed the message-related bugs that mainly occurred on the iPhone 12 series, but did not seem to fix the text reception notification problem that affects more models.
The Verge, a US media outlet, reports that iOS 14.3, which is currently being distributed to developers and registered users in the RC version, does not seem to fix this issue.
