It is reported that BOE has completed the first shipment of Apple iPhone OLED last week for the iPhone 12/Pro models

IT Home News on December 28 According to Luotu Technology, a global technology industry research organization, before December 25, Chinese panel manufacturer BOE has completed the first batch of AMOLED panels for Apple’s iPhone smartphones. It is 6.1 inches and the quantity is 10,000 pieces.

The supply chain revealed that this batch of screens will be used on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models. The products supplied this time are co-produced by two G6 flexible AMOLED production lines in Chengdu and Mianyang: Panel is produced by Chengdu B7 factory and modules are shipped from Mianyang B11 factory. Before New Year’s Day, it is still possible to complete the second shipment.

The industry believes that Apple’s OLED iPhone shipments will rise to 160 to 180 million units in 2021. Among them, Samsung Display will take in 130 million OLED panels, BOE and LG Display predict that they will win 10 million and 40 million, respectively, while BOE internally believes that it can reach 20 million.

IT House once reported that a supply chain person revealed to UI News on the 24th that BOE has officially passed Apple’s screen certification and will start to supply Apple with iPhone 12 OLED screen panels in December. However, the BOE public relations person replied that he did not understand the relevant situation.

It is worth mentioning that South Korean media TheElec previously reported that BOE failed to obtain Apple’s requirements for OLED screens in the two certifications this year. Luotu Technology revealed that BOE is stuck in the reliability index of Foxconn’s iPEG (Innovation Product Enclosure Group, which is mainly engaged in iPhone case processing and assembly).

Robin, an Apple product analyst at RUNTO, believes that the models supplied by BOE panels are Apple’s main models. Therefore, Apple’s demand for BOE is by no means limited to the 10 million or 20 million pieces that are passed down in the industry. The cooperation model with BOE is not a simple order-based production and sales, it may be based on BOE’s supply capacity to order production and sales.
