Is the pear logo infringing on Apple’s apple logo?Is the settlement negotiation between the parties started?

Prepear vs Apple logo_02

App developer Prepear’s pear logo infringes Apple’s apple logo trademark, and trial proceedings were underway in the United States, but the two companies seem to have begun negotiations for a settlement.

250,000 people agree with Apple’s signing campaign to withdraw its complaint

Apple has alleged that the Prepear pear logo infringes the trademark in that “the leaf tilted to the right and the simplified fruit design are reminiscent of the Apple logo.”

More than 250,000 supporters have gathered in a signing campaign initiated by Prepear on Change.org to help Apple drop the complaint.

If no agreement is reached by January 23, trial proceedings will resume

The deadline for settlement negotiations, which will be held by suspending the court proceedings, is 30 days, and it seems that both companies can suspend the negotiations and resume the court proceedings even within the deadline. Also, if no agreement is reached between the two companies, the court proceedings will automatically resume on January 23, 2021.

If reopened, disclosure of the content of the trial in this case will begin in March 2021, but oral trials will not begin by December 2021.
