Apple may integrate Podcasts + podcast subscription service in Apple One

According to reports, in accordance with Apple’s past practices, the company may launch a podcast service Podcasts+ at this year’s conference.

Apple has previously launched Apple News+, Apple Arcade, Apple TV + and Apple Cards. Last year, it released the Apple One subscription service, which can bind a variety of services and get certain discounts.

Since iOS 14.5 will definitely be launched in the near future, Apple may add Podcasts + podcast subscription services in it. The reasons are as follows:

When the first beta version of iOS 14.5 was released in February, the Apple Podcasts app made minor adjustments to the user interface. In subsequent beta versions, more adjustments were made: when users download iOS 14.5 beta 4, they will watch To the new welcome page, content such as “New Program”, “Follow Program” and “Save Progress” have been added.

This move shows that Apple is still refining the design language around subscription and chasing. After changing the “Subscribe” button in the Podcasts application to a new “Follow” button, Apple now no longer emphasizes that all content is provided for free.

It is with these changes in mind that the company may launch a podcast subscription service for the first time. Before Apple launched TV+, it released “Planet of the Apps” and other self-made content.

With Apple focusing on self-made content such as “For All Mankind: Official Podcast” in its Podcasts app, and launching a pure voice TV series “Calls”, the above adjustment is entirely possible to integrate Podcasts in Apple One. + The first step in subscribing to a service.

Podcasting giant Spotify is integrating music and podcasts, and is testing a hierarchical subscription model for voice programs, so it is entirely possible for Apple to take the same measures, and it is possible to add Podcasts+ to the basic package of Apple One.

Apple can increase the attractiveness of Apple One bundled packages by adding services without additional charges. If this is the case, this monthly service starting at $14.95 will include Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, 50GB iCloud storage and Podcasts+.

Do you agree with this speculation? Are you willing to pay for high-quality voice programs?
