Sony announced the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 10 III on April 14, 2021. Both models will be released in countries and regions including Japan after early summer.
Features of Xperia 1 III
Xperia 1 III has the following features.
- The rear camera is equipped with a new ultra-wide-angle lens with a focal length of 16 mm (F2.2), a wide-angle lens with a focal length of 24 mm (F1.7), and the world’s first variable telephoto lens with high AF performance.
- The variable telephoto lens has two focal lengths, 70mm (F2.3) and 105mm (F2.8), with one lens.
- Equipped with a 6.5-inch cinema wide display with an aspect ratio of 21: 9
- World’s first 4K 120Hz HDR compatible organic EL display (3840 x 1644 pixels)
- 240Hz afterimage reduction technology tuned for gameplay, smooth game content
- By installing Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform, CPU is about 25% faster and GPU is about 35% faster
- Equipped with 12GB RAM, improved operating speed and processing power
- Supports 256GB / 512GB ROM and 1TB microSDXC, and can store large amounts of data
- Supports 5G millimeter waves and sub 6Ghz, battery capacity is 4,500mAh
- The body color is available in three colors: frost black, frost gray, and frost purple.
- Corning’s “Gorilla Glass Victus” adopted for display panel glass
- Waterproof performance is “IPX5 / 8”, dustproof performance is “IP6X”
Features of Xperia 10 III
Xperia 10 III has the following features.
- Approximately 6.0 inch full HD + (2520 x 1080) HDR compatible organic EL display installed
- Aspect ratio 21: 9, HDR compatible
- Achieves high sound quality by installing “DSEE Ultimate”
- The rear camera is equipped with a wide-angle lens with a focal length of 27 mm with an effective pixel count of approximately 12.2 million pixels, an ultra-wide-angle lens with a focal length of 16 mm with an effective pixel count of approximately 8 million pixels, and a telephoto lens with a focal length of 52 mm (35 mm equivalent).
- Supports 5G communication, battery capacity is 4,500mAh
- The body color is available in four colors: black, white, blue, and pink.
- Equipped with 128GB ROM, compatible with 1TB microSDXC
- Waterproof performance is “IPX5 / 8”, dustproof performance is “IP6X”
Domestic carriers will be released after mid-June
The page of Xperia 1 III states that Softbank will release “Xperia 1 III” and au will release “Xperia 1 III SOG03” in Frost Black and Frost Purple after mid-June.
On the page of Xperia 10 III, it is stated that au will release black, white, blue and pink as “Xperia 10 III SOG04” from the middle of June.
