The term “value chain” seems to refer to the so-called “Scope 3″ emissions, which are emissions from the use of a company’s products by other parties, and calls for the release of these data may be controversial. When ExxonMobil first reported on its “Scope 3” emissions in January this year, it wrote that the data “is not so certain and not consistent, because it includes indirect results from the consumption and use of a company’s products.
