Bloomberg: iPadOS 15 will improve multitasking and redesign the notification banner of iOS 15

According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, iPadOS 15 will include improved ways for users to manage multiple applications that are open at the same time. In addition, the redesigned notification banner will also appear for the first time in iOS 15. In an overview report on Apple’s expectations at the Global Developers Conference on Monday, Gurman reiterated his previous report, while also providing some additional new tidbits.

Gullman has previously stated that iPadOS 15 will allow users to place gadgets anywhere on the home screen, and improvements to multitasking can also be expected.

For the iPad, Apple plans to transform the home screen to support the placement of small tools anywhere on the screen-dynamic information fragments such as calendar, weather and stocks. This is a commonly requested feature that will align the iPad with Android’s competitors. The company also plans to improve the multitasking system to make it easier to operate multiple applications at the same time.

In addition, Gulman said, in addition to major changes to iMessage and a new way for users to set status on the device, iOS 15 will also include a redesigned call notification banner.

In the iPhone and iPad software updates, users can now set a state—such as whether they are driving, sleeping, working, or not wanting to be interrupted—and let it decide how to handle incoming notifications. This update will also include greater attention to auto-reply messages and a new design for the incoming call notification banner at the top of the screen.

Apple’s 2021 Global Developers Conference will kick off at 1:00 AM on Tuesday, June 8, Beijing time.
