TikTok announces “Jump” integration feature similar to Apple’s App Clips

TikTok Jump

TikTok announced a new feature called “TikTok Jump” on June 21, local time. This feature is a third-party mini-app built into TikTok and is available to content creators and users. Like Apple’s App Clip, you can access mini-apps in your videos without leaving TikTok.

TikTok announces new feature “TikTok Jump”

The new feature “Jump” has been announced on the TikTok website and shows how it works. Developers will be able to create mini-apps for all TikTok users through videos shared on social networks.

Mini-apps allow users to view information and interact with some options with the click of a Jump button, without having to download the full app from the App Store. TikTok has worked with partners such as Wikipedia, BuzzFeed and Quizlet to develop this feature.

TikTok Jump is a new way for creators to share compelling and informative content on TikTok. This new feature is a mini-program built by a third-party provider that allows creators to link in their videos. Users around the world can click these links to search for recipes, take quizzes, discover useful learning tools, and more, providing the community with a more dynamic and hands-on experience. ..

Mini app development is relatively easy

Jump is based on HTML5, and if you are familiar with web programming, the process of developing a mini app for TikTok is very easy. Anyone can create and apply for a Jump, but only the useful ones are actually approved.

This new feature doesn’t work system-wide, but it doesn’t seem to be much different from Apple’s App Clip. Apple introduced App Clip in iOS 14 as a way for developers to provide only some of the key features without having to install the app.

Jump was offered in beta for some users, but now seems to be gradually rolling out to more users.
