Softbank’s new brand LINEMO announced on July 6 that it is now possible to select direct debit as the payment method.

Direct debit is possible

SOFTBANK’s LINEMO is an online-only brand that enables high-speed data communication up to 20GB for 2,480 yen (excluding tax) per month.

Previously, we only accepted VISA, Mastercard, JCB, American Express and Diners Club credit card payments.

According to LINEMO, payment by direct debit was supported by Mizuho Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Mega Bank, some online banks, regional banks, credit unions, credit unions, and labor banks.

At the time of writing the article, Japan Post Bank is not subject to direct debit and will be supported in the future.

In the case of direct debit payment, the usage fee from the 1st to the last day of each month will be deducted around the 26th of the following month.

In addition, payment by direct debit can be selected only at the time of LINEMO contract, and users who have already contracted LINEMO cannot change the payment method to direct debit.

Please check the LINEMO page below for details such as a list of financial institutions that can be used for direct debit.
