Before the autumn new product launch, foreign media AppleInsider got the iPhone 13 series model in advance from a special channel. There are 4 models in this series as last year, namely iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. In the video, it is also compared with the iPhone 12 series.
Under normal circumstances, Apple will upgrade the design every 2 years. Therefore, iPhone 13 will not have much adjustment in appearance, and Apple will focus on performance, camera and other unique features.
At present, the authenticity of this batch of machine models cannot be studied, but foreign media said that they come from reliable channels and are accurate in the machine models shared in the past few years. But this is not a 100% guarantee that this year’s model is also accurate.
This batch of models is based on recently published design drawings, and case manufacturers are already relying on these design drawings to mass-produce cases for Apple’s unannounced mobile phones. These design drawings are not certain, and the final product released by Apple may change.
Foreign media’s initial impression of the lineup is that Apple does insist on using the same screen size this time: 5.4-inch iPhone 13 Mini, 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple will get rid of the 5.4-inch model from 2022, so the iPhone 13 Mini may be your last chance to buy a small iPhone.
In all models, we can see at least some changes to the TrueDepth camera system on the front of the phone. Apple has moved the handset to the top edge, leaving only the off-center camera. This does not necessarily mean that the size of the bangs will change, as in recent rumors, but it will change anyway. Since these models do not have actual screens, but black glass sheets on the front, we cannot accurately see the size of the bangs.
If you look at the iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 12 mini side by side, they look almost identical. The only visible difference in appearance is the camera module. Apple moved the wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses to the sides instead of stacking them on top of each other. In addition, the physical dimensions and button positions of these products are the same.
On the iPhone 13, we see that Apple has begun to make some changes. The camera, like the iPhone 13 mini, has a diagonal design, but other than that, it looks no different in size.
Things started to get interesting on the iPhone 13 Pro. The iPhone 13 is the same in terms of button positions, but what we care most about here is the camera. We see that the camera bump on the iPhone 13 Pro model is significantly larger than that of the iPhone 12 Pro. This reiterates what we saw in a recent leak: both the wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle lenses appear to be larger.
This larger bump may be due to the ultra-wide-angle camera with improved autofocus. Since the wide-angle lens is also larger, this may suggest that the camera will also be improved. It is worth noting that the telephoto lens of the iPhone 13 Pro maintains the same size. Therefore, two cameras are larger and one is smaller. This seems to indicate that Apple will keep the improved telephoto lens in the iPhone 13 Pro Max, just like Apple did with the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The two are basically the same in appearance, except that the SIM card tray is moved up a bit. On the back of the fuselage, the raised part of the camera module is larger than the previous generation, which means that the existing protective case of the iPhone 12 Pro Max may not be suitable for the iPhone 13 Pro Max. All 3 cameras are larger, which means there will be some obvious upgrades on the cameras.
Mr. Guo Mingchi said that according to the supply chain information, Apple will adopt a new wide-angle camera with an aperture of f/1.5. This is larger than the f/1.6 aperture of the iPhone 12 version, which will improve night shooting, reduce particles, and increase the blur effect. Since the telephoto lens is also larger, we can expect some changes to the 2.5x model that has been upgraded on the largest iPhone in 2020.
