TrendForce: Apple’s MacBook sales in the first quarter increased 94% year-on-year

According to TrendForce’s latest report, Apple may benefit from the growth in global notebook computer shipments. Its MacBook Pro and MacBook Air have brought a higher level of growth to it, and the demand for Chromebooks will slow down.

Due to the continuation of the new crown epidemic, some users choose remote office and online learning methods, which has also prompted many changes in users’ buying habits. In a report released by TrendForce, they predict that this increase in user demand may continue until 2021.

The report predicts that the rising trend of notebook demand in 2021 will continue, and notebook shipments may reach 236 million units, a year-on-year increase of 15%. Among them, Samsung and Apple have the highest growth rate. The former Chromebook accounted for nearly 50% of the total notebook shipments this year, and the latter released the M1 MacBook.

It is said that in 2021 Chromebook sales will reach 47 million units, a record high, a year-on-year increase of 50%. However, most of the growth is in the United States, accounting for 70%.
