Lens flare that tends to occur in photographs containing strong light
The lens flare phenomenon occurs when light is reflected in the multiple lenses that make up the camera, and it occurs not only in the iPhone.
Under conditions such as when taking a photo with a strong light source in a dim place, iPhone tends to cause lens flare with a greenish circle on the opposite side of the center of the photo.
Report that lens flare was automatically removed after shooting
Overseas bulletin board Reddit user u / Doubleluckstur reports that lens flare has been removed when taking pictures of grasslands and the sun on an iPhone with iOS 15 Beta 4 installed for developers. ..
Here is an image cut out from Live Photo. A round light is reflected on the left side, which is symmetrical to the sun on the right side.
And here are the pictures I usually took. The lens flare is gone. Also, the color tone of the entire photo is not impaired.
Other Reddit users report that the lens flare that occurred in photos taken with the iPhone 12 Pro was removed after a while.
Report of lens flare removal on iPhone XS and later
Several Reddit users have reported that the lens flare has been eliminated on the iPhone XS, iPhone11 and iPhone12.
US media 9to5Mac commented that the new features of iOS 15 are limited to models equipped with A12 Bionic or later, so it is unclear whether earlier models will have the same effect.
No explanation from Apple, the mechanism is unknown
Apple hasn’t explained anything about eliminating lens flares in iOS 15, and it’s unclear what kind of processing is used to achieve this.
iOS15 has also released public beta 4 for registered users, and the official version for general users will be released this fall.
The official Twitter account of the high-performance camera app Halide also talks about “Big news: The latest beta of iOS 15 automatically removes the familiar green round lens flare on the iPhone. What do you think?”
