While Facebook and Snap provide tools that allow you to build augmented reality (AR) experiences on their respective platforms, TikTok has begun testing a tool called “Effect Studio” that has similar functionality.

TikTok has launched a new website called “Effect Studio”. This tool is currently available in private beta only in some select markets, such as the United States, and is in the early stages of testing.
The company is urging interested developers to apply for early access to Effect Studio on the Effect House website.
The developer fills out the form provided with name, email address, TikTok account information, company name, AR production experience level, work example, etc. We’re also looking at whether you’re using a Mac or a PC (perhaps to determine which desktop platform to prioritize) and whether you’re testing Effect Studio for work or personal use.
According to US media TechCrunch, TikTok may not actually offer this AR tool because it is in the early stages of experimentation.
However, with TikTok becoming the only app that has gained popularity over the last few years and has reached 3 billion downloads outside of Facebook, it’s only a matter of time before all users have access to this new tool. The US media 9to5Mac reports that there is.
