It is reported that the key highlight of this year’s Apple Watch Series 7 is the change in appearance. This watch can be said to be the product with the biggest appearance change in Apple Watch history. For the first time, it adopts a flat-sided and narrow-bezel design. It has a more stylish design and a higher screen-to-body ratio, allowing users to know that this is the latest model at a glance. .
For the new design, Apple also adopted many new production procedures for the first time, including: 1) OLED G6 production line (in the past Apple Watch was G4.5), 2) panel modules discarded the past cable design and modified Adopt contact design, and for the first time use Low injection pressure overmolding (LIPO) process. It was also the first time that many new panel-related production procedures were adopted, which caused the panel modules of Apple Watch 7 to encounter reliability problems in the previous stage of mass production, mainly including panel flickering and insensitive touch.
However, Guo Mingchi said that Apple has found the best production configuration through different experimental designs on the panel module side, and has solved the reliability problem of the panel module by adjusting the verification standards of the panel side and the assembly side. Guo Mingchi predicts that Apple Watch 7 panel modules will start mass production in mid-September, and terminal products will start mass shipments in late September.
