Xiaomi has the second highest market share but low profit margin
On the other hand, Xiaomi, which overtook Apple in terms of unit share and came in second, is not doing well in terms of profitability.
This is because Xiaomi has been focusing on shipments and sacrificing profits over the last few years.
However, with the launch of smartphones with high average selling prices (ASP) in 2021, operating profit has been significantly positive for the first time since the first half of 2019, and signs of change are beginning to appear.
Samsung, which has the highest shipment volume, can be said to be making stable profits compared to other Android smartphone makers.
Even so, there is a difference of 25 percentage points in sales and 62 percentage points in profit from Apple, and you can see how strong Apple’s sales and profit generation power is.
