According to MacRumors, many users of the 2021 16-inch MacBook Pro have reported a problem. When their MacBook Pro is closed and the lid is closed, the MagSafe 3 charger sometimes fails to charge the notebook.
Some users on Reddit said that the 16-inch MacBook Pro cannot be charged if the MagSafe charger is plugged in when the power is turned off. Instead of turning green, the MagSafe indicator blinks amber and cannot power the Mac battery.
(A steady orange light indicates that the MacBook is charging, and a green light indicates that it is fully charged.)
The flashing amber MagSafe indicator indicates that some functions are not working properly. The Apple support page provides users with steps on how to restore MagSafe to normal operation.
