Rumored that the first Apple virtual reality headset will focus on gaming, media and communications

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said that APPLE’s rumored augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) will focus on games, media consumption and communications.

He will also describe in the weekly “Power On” newsletter about the wide range of use cases that users can get from the company’s mixed reality devices.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo explained that Apple is preparing to position its device to replace the iPhone within 10 years, but Gurman clarified today that the first-generation version of the device will not be a replacement for Mac, iPhone or iPad. Instead, Gurman believes that this device will focus on three “killer” functions-gaming, media consumption and communication. A lot of details about the hardware and specifications of this device have been reported. The device is rumored to have a lightweight design, two main processors, two 4K micro LED displays, 15 optical modules, eye tracking, and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. ….. Apple has applied for a number of patents related to the device’s potential software, and although it is expected to adopt a transparent AR mode, the expected software features outlined by Gurman today are only one of the limited rumors about the device’s capabilities.

According to Morgan Stanley analysts, with Apple’s virtual reality “coming soon”, Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the device will begin mass production in the second quarter of 2022 and be launched in the fourth quarter of 2022.
