Korean media ET News reported that Jahwa Electronics will establish an optical image stabilization (OIS) production plant for the iPhone 14 series in Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea.

It seems that the produced parts will be delivered to LG Innotek

The factory established by Jahwa Electronics in Gumi will only produce parts for Apple.

The company has purchased a factory in Gumi City that is not currently in operation and has begun to improve the production line.

Jahwa Electronics will produce OIS for the iPhone 14 series at this factory.

According to ET News, the company chose Gumi as the location for its new factory because it has a factory for LG Innotek, which produces many of the camera modules for the iPhone.

This is expected to speed up logistics when delivering OIS produced by Jahwa Electronics to LG Innotek.

It is rumored that the wide-angle camera of the iPhone 14 series will have 48 million pixels

It is rumored that the iPhone 14 series has a wide-angle camera with 48 million pixels, which is four times the 12 million pixels of the current model.

As a result, the effects of camera shake will become more pronounced, and the role of OIS will become important, ET News said.

At Jahwa Electronics, OIS and autofocus actuators currently account for 90% of sales.

ET News notes that Jahwa Electronics is likely to have a significant number of parts supply contracts between the two companies, as they will set up a plant that produces only parts for Apple.
