It seems that production of mini LEDs for the mini LED backlight display, which is rumored to be installed in the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro, will start soon. MacRumors predicts that the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro, along with the new 11-inch iPad Pro, may be available with a 5G-capable A14X chip.

Taiwan Enoostar will start production of mini LED backlight unit in March

According to Taiwan DigiTimes, Ennostar, a holding company co-founded by Taiwan Epistar and Lextar Electronics, will produce mini LED backlight units for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro in the first quarter of 2021 (January-March). It will start in the second half or the second quarter (April-June).

The mini LEDs will be manufactured by Epistar, Lextar Electronics will package them for the backlight, and Ennostar will finish the unit.

From this production plan, it seems likely that the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be announced in March 2021.

11-inch iPad Pro also equipped with A14X, will it appear with 5G support?

It is expected that only the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro will be equipped with a mini LED backlight display, and it is unknown what will happen to the 11-inch iPad Pro, but if the new 11-inch iPad Pro is announced at the same time, the on-board chip will be installed. MacRumors expects it to be changed to the A14X and support 5G.
