Netflix: Apple’s spatial audio function has not been tested yet

Netflix, a foreign streaming media platform, said that it has not yet tested support for Apple’s headset spatial audio function.

A Netflix spokesperson said in a statement to the media that the spatial audio support of AirPods Pro and AirPods Max has not been tested, and there are no plans to make it public. But Netflix said it is testing multi-channel support for built-in speakers as part of its improvement of services and new experiences for users.

Given that many of Netflix’s competitors (such as Disney Plus, HBO Max, Apple TV +) have begun to support spatial audio, Netflix will also feel pressure.

The spatial audio function can bring a home theater-like feeling to Apple’s AirPods Pro and AirPods Max headphones without changing the hardware. But the conditions of use are more stringent. In addition to this headset, it also requires iPhone or iPad products and support for media services, and the latter is the most difficult.
