Apple’s mixed reality (MR) headset, which is rumored to be available for about $ 1,000 by 2022, seems to have 15 camera modules.

Apple’s MR headset will feature 15 camera modules, said Minchey Kuo, an analyst at TF Securities.
According to Kuo, 15 camera modules will be used for 8 see-through AR (Augmented Reality) experiences, 6 for innovative biometrics, and 1 for environment detection.
The MR headset is equipped with Sony’s micro-organic EL (OLED) display and seems to be under development to fit in 100 to 200 grams.

Kuo anticipates that Apple may launch helmet-type MR headsets by 2022, Apple glasses by 2025, and contact lens-type AR devices from 2030 to 2040.
