It was announced that Union Pearson Express (commonly known as UP Express), an airport rail link connecting Union Station in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and Toronto Pearson International Airport, will now be able to pay with Apple Pay.

Plans to expand into Toronto city

Metrolinx, the operator of UP Express, announced that payments can now be made by simply holding an iPhone or Apple Watch over a PRESTO machine when boarding an airport train. Tap the credit card and the credit card added to the Wallet app on the machine before boarding, and tap out with PRESTO when getting off.

A Metrolinx spokeswoman told Global News, the Canadian media, “We are also working with institutions such as the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC),” and Apple Pay payments on public transport will be introduced in Toronto in the future. It is expected to be done.
