On May 23 (local time), Apple began inviting additional local participants to WWDC next month. The additional invitation seems to fill in the amount that the winner who received the invitation the other day can no longer participate.

WWDC in 2022 will start on June 6th (local time). Although this year’s WWDC will also be held online, the developers who won the lottery will be invited to Apple Park to participate in keynote speeches and tours of new facilities. The other day, an invitation was sent to the winning developers, but some developers seemed to be absent or did not respond by the deadline, and the vacancy will be subject to additional invitations. An invitation has been sent to the developer.

The number of local participants is not as large as usual, but rather a limited number selected by lottery. Winning developers will need to travel to Cupertino, California, where their venue, Apple Park, is located to secure accommodation.
In addition, the additional invitation to WWDC is seen as a positive sign for Apple to hold WWDC keynotes and other events with the audience at this time. It has been pointed out that depending on the infection status of the new coronavirus, there may be no audience this year, and there are high expectations that the keynote speeches of the audience will be revived, even though the number of local participants is very small.
