iMessage: How to customize the app bar!

iMessage logoIn this post, we want to introduce you to a little trick in iMessage that some of you may not have figured out yet. If you use Apple’s Messages app regularly, you probably know the small app line below the text field. This is where useful functions and apps that you access when chatting are usually found. Unfortunately, not always in the order that would make the most sense for you. But that can easily be changed.

Adjust the order in the iMessage app bar

In order to be able to implement our little tip, you take your iPhone at hand, open the iMessage app and select any chat. Below the text input field you can now see the app bar you are familiar with. By default, this starts with the Apple Photos and App Store app. Unfortunately, this cannot be changed, but you can easily adjust the order of all subsequent apps.

Simply scroll the bar all the way to the right and tap the “More” button with the three dots. On the next page, go to “Edit” in the top left. You can now use the horizontal lines to the right of the apps to change the order in which they are to be displayed in the bar. Simply press and hold the handle marker and move the app to the preferred position.

Change the order of the app bar in iMessage

To remove an app from the “Favorites” list, tap the red button on the left. These then no longer appear at the very front of the app bar. To add apps that you want to appear at the forefront in the bar, click on the green plus icon to the left of the respective application further down. You can also completely exclude apps from being displayed in the app line using the switches on the right-hand side. So you can also slim down the app bar.
