Announced at Apple’s World Developers Conference (WWDC22) keynote, the new MacBook Air has been redesigned and features an M2 chip.

“… The MacBook Air, which has been completely redesigned around the M2, features four beautiful finishes: a thinner, lighter, faster, larger display, an improved camera, and a battery that can be used all day long. That’s why Apple Silicone makes it possible to achieve a fanless design and this combination of performance and capabilities with such a thin and lightweight notebook (…), says Apple’s Senior Worldwide Marketing Officer. Vice President Greg Joswiack commented.

The MacBook Air, built from scratch around the M2, has a completely new design that is extremely thin from any angle. Weighing only 11.3 mm and weighing only 1.24 kg, it feels amazingly sturdy, designed for longevity, and features a durable all-aluminum unibody enclosure. This thin and light design incorporates parts extremely efficiently, resulting in a phenomenal reduction in volume of 20 percent.
