MacOS Ventura was announced at this year’s World Developers Conference (WWDC22), and the addition of new gaming features has improved the gaming experience, according to US media Apple Insider.

Better response and amazingly beautiful graphics experience

One of the biggest changes in the gaming experience on the Mac is the launch of Metal 3. Metal 3 is the latest version of Apple’s graphics framework, featuring new features that allow game developers to leverage the power of Apple Silicon to achieve better gaming performance.

Apple describes MetalFX Upscaling as follows:

MetalFX Upscaling allows developers to quickly draw complex scenes using less computationally intensive frames before applying high quality spatial upscaling and temporal antialiasing. This accelerates performance, making it a game where you can experience better responsiveness and stunning graphics.

SharePlay Easy to play together in real time

SharePlay has been improved on all Apple platforms, including the Mac, and macOS Ventura now allows you to talk on FaceTime while playing with your favorite games. If you don’t want to use FaceTime, you can also use “messages”.

Buddy controller can be used

As part of the accessibility features of macOS Ventura, a buddy controller is available that allows you to use two controllers together as one controller.

Logitech G920 and Logitech G29 are also newly supported as controllers.

Game Center also updated

The Game Center, which is essential for playing games with friends, has also been updated. You’ll now see an activity feed where you can see what other players are playing and what you’ve unlocked.

You’ll also see new Apple Arcade titles, leaderboards between friends, and achievements you’ve unlocked.
