The reason why Apple will abandon the “iPhone 14 mini” small-screen mobile phone is exposed: iPhone 13/12 mini sales are too poor

IT House July 30 news, according to multiple reports, Apple will not provide the iPhone 14 mini model this year. And for obvious reasons, the iPhone mini model has suffered a series of commercial failures since its 2020 debut. Apple therefore decided to change its mind.

In 2020, Apple launched the mini model for the first time in the iPhone 12 series, and adopted a new marketing strategy. The goal is simple: attract new customers with smaller, cheaper, more compact smartphones. But the results were not ideal: two months after its official launch, the mini model accounted for only 6% of total iPhone sales. Faced with this disaster, Apple decided to suspend production.

The following year, Apple launched the iPhone 13 mini, hoping to correct the mistakes of the past. But once again suffered a tragic failure, even worse than the previous generation, mini sales accounted for only 3%. Sales figures show that only a few users have bought the iPhone 13 mini.

There are several reasons for the poor sales of the iPhone mini model. First, historically, users have always preferred higher-end models in the iPhone lineup. In addition, users are also very concerned about the price.

The iPhone mini is not much cheaper than the standard version, and users prefer to choose the older model of the smartphone, which is fast and has a larger screen, compared to the price of the new mini. For example, the iPhone 12 mini will be less popular in 2020 than the iPhone SE, iPhone 11 and iPhone XR.

About the iPhone 14 series broke the news

Apple is expected to launch four new iPhone 14 models this year. Among them, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be the only models with a faster A16 chip and a new “pill + punch” screen design. Rumor has it that this year’s iPhone Pro models will feature a 48-megapixel wide-angle camera capable of shooting 8K video.

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will also get the biggest front-facing camera upgrade in years, with a new larger f/1.9 aperture lens and autofocus for better low-light performance.

As for the regular iPhone 14 models, it’s largely based on the iPhone 13 hardware, including an A15 chip that brings smaller camera upgrades, larger batteries, and 6GB of RAM. The most notable upgrade to the mid-range product line this year is the launch of the “iPhone 14 Max” with a 6.7-inch screen to replace the “mini” model.
