A17 manufactured in 3nm process
The first thing the media mentions is a system-on-chip (SoC) manufactured with a 3nm process that achieves both improved performance and reduced power consumption.
It is rumored that the A16 installed in the iPhone14 Pro series will be manufactured using the same TSMC 5nm process “N5P” as the A15.
TSMC will start manufacturing semiconductors using the 3nm process within the year, and the A17 for the iPhone15 Pro series is expected to be manufactured using the same process.
Adoption of USB-C terminal
Apple is expected to change the external connection terminal from Lightning to USB-C in the iPhone 15 series.
