The Economic Daily reported on the impact on Foxconn’s Chengdu factory of the extended rolling blackout period in Sichuan Province, China, from September 21 to 25 at midnight (local time).

It seems that the rolling blackout period in Sichuan Province, which was scheduled until September 21st, has been extended until 0:00 am (local time) on the 25th.
Foxconn’s Chengdu factory is believed to be assembling Apple Watch, iPad and MacBook.
Foxconn, which has multiple factories in Chengdu, said that the planned blackouts until the 21st would not affect it, but the Economic Daily has confirmed with the company again due to the extension of the period and has given the answer.
As a result, even if the rolling blackout period is extended to midnight on the 25th (local time), it will not affect the production plan in light of recovery activities by local staff, overtime work after the restart of operations, inventory status, etc. That’s it.
No impact on the initial inventory of the iPhone 14 series?
Foxconn is reportedly the largest supplier of assembly work for the iPhone 14 series.
However, it seems that the Suzhou factory is in charge of this, not the Chengdu factory, so there is currently no concern about the impact of rolling blackouts.
Bloomberg’s Mark Garman said that the initial inventory of the iPhone 14 series was secured.
