Survey: Apple iPhone 14/Pro Will Stimulate More Users to Upgrade Than iPhone 13/Pro Despite Expected Price Increases

IT House August 24 news, according to previous reports, Apple plans to hold its first autumn conference event on Wednesday, September 7 (expected to be in the early morning of September 8, Beijing time). The event will focus on the release of the iPhone 14 series models and the Apple Watch Series 8.

The iPhone 14 launch may only be two weeks away, and early data suggests Apple will once again spur existing iPhone users to upgrade. In fact, a new survey released this week shows that more users plan to upgrade to the iPhone 14 series than they did last year to the iPhone 13 series.

Savings released the survey based on a small sample of 1,500 current iPhone users. The data shows that 14% of existing iPhone users plan to upgrade to the iPhone 14 series this year, up from 10% in the same survey before the release of the iPhone 13 series last year.

According to the survey, more than two-thirds of users planning to upgrade have an iPhone that is less than two years old. In addition, one-third of users planning to upgrade currently have an iPhone for a year or less. Only 13% of users planning to upgrade said they have used their current iPhone for more than three years.

The proportion of current mobile phone models of users planning to upgrade to iPhone 14: 17% for iPhone 13, 29% for iPhone 12, 24% for iPhone 11, 3% for iPhone SE 2020, 18% for iPhone X, XR, XS iPhone 8 and earlier 9%.

Some of the most common reasons people plan to upgrade include faster processors (61 percent), improved storage capacity (54 percent), and 48-megapixel cameras (53 percent). This seems to indicate a lot of interest in the iPhone 14 Pro, expecting major upgrades to the camera and processor that don’t stand out on the standard iPhone 14.

For iPhone users who don’t plan to upgrade, 86% of respondents said their current phone still works, while 60% said the upgrade cost is too high.

The survey proves in some ways that more original iPhone users plan to upgrade to the iPhone 14 series this year than those planning to upgrade to the iPhone 13 series.

Apple faces a number of different headwinds as the iPhone 14 series cycle approaches. These include broader economic issues, inflation, supply chain shortages and ongoing lockdowns related to the COVID-19 outbreak.

IT House has learned that, according to an analyst report, Apple also plans to increase the price of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max by $100. That would bring the starting price of the iPhone 14 Pro to $1,099 and the iPhone 14 Pro Max to $1,199.

However, the newly added iPhone 14 Max is a major change to the iPhone lineup. This will be the first time Apple has launched a 6.7-inch iPhone for less than $1,000. Of course this model may not be as Pro in features, but it will be the most tempting option for those who want the largest possible screen.

“Analyst: Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro / Pro Max will increase the price by $100, and the price of the iPhone 14 standard version will remain unchanged”
