iPhone 14 Pro Max battery test lasts 2 hours longer than previous generation

Apple says the iPhone 14 Pro has enough battery life to last a day, and it’s still full of power to support many new features. According to a battery test conducted by Tom’s Guide designed to simulate real-world usage, the new iPhone 14 Pro Max lasted 2 hours longer than last year’s iPhone 13 Pro Max.

For the new generation of iPhone 14 series, the entry-level iPhone 14 battery capacity is 3279mAh, the iPhone 14 Plus battery capacity is 4325mAh, the iPhone 14 Pro battery capacity is 3200mAh, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max battery capacity is 4323mAh.

In its review of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, Tom’s Guide said the iPhone 14 Pro Max lasted an average of 14 hours and 42 minutes on a full charge. In a similar test, the iPhone 13 Pro Max lasted 12 hours and 16 minutes.

In testing, the ‌iPhone 14 Pro‌ Max was found to consume 30 percent of its battery in just 5 hours while downloading apps, listening to music, and taking photos and videos. Interestingly, the iPhone 14 Pro Max does quite well in terms of durability. After charging close to 90%, the phone only dropped to 60% after using the phone to download apps, play music, take photos and videos from 1-6pm.

The iPhone 14 Pro Max does have a slightly smaller battery compared to the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but thanks to the new A16 Bionic chip and a more efficient display. Unlike the iPhone 13 Pro, the iPhone 14 Pro features a more advanced OLED display with refresh rates as low as 1Hz, compared to 10Hz on last year’s iPhones.

On top of a more efficient OLED panel, the display is now controlled by a new display engine embedded in the A16 Bionic chip, which reduces power consumption and features such as ProMotion, Smart Island and All-Weather Display.
