IT House News on September 19, repair website iFixit today shared a teardown video of the iPhone 14 Standard Edition. iFixit CEO Kyle Wiens praised the device’s easier-to-repair interior, calling it the most significant iPhone redesign since the iPhone X.
As mentioned in some reviews, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are the first iPhone models since the iPhone 4S that can be opened from the back of the device. iFixit says the display and rear glass panel can be secured with just two screws and one or two connectors, making the two components easier to remove and replace.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models are essentially “sandwiches,” consisting of a display, a midframe that houses most of the internal components, and a rear glass panel. According to internal documents seen by MacRumors, Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers will be able to replace the midframe if necessary by installing new components on customers’ existing display and back glass, as long as the parts are not damaged.

IT House learned that at the “Far Out” conference in September, Apple released the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, retaining most of the iPhone 13’s design – including for the phone’s selfie camera and Face ID Notch notch for sensor. Apple also introduced the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, with a “smart island” pill screen to show alerts and background activity, brighter displays and AOD always-on display, A16 bionic chip, new color options, and more. The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are already on sale, and the iPhone 14 Plus will be available on October 7.
