Bloomberg reported that Apple had planned to manufacture 96 million iPhone 14 series units by the end of the year, but had abandoned this and revised it to 90 million units, the same level as the previous year.

Planned to increase production by 6 million units

Apple was reportedly aiming to manufacture 90 million units of the iPhone 14 series by the end of the year, but it seems that it has requested suppliers to prepare to add 6 million units from that.

However, the media reports that this plan was abandoned due to sluggish demand for the iPhone 14 and the plan was changed to increase production of the iPhone 14 Pro series.

Is the effect of increased production of the Pro series gradually appearing?

Foxconn, which is in charge of manufacturing the iPhone 14, is reported to have dismantled five production lines due to sluggish demand for the model.

Looking at the estimated delivery date of the Apple online store, all models of the iPhone 14 are “1 to 2 business days” and the inventory is abundant.

On the other hand, the estimated delivery date of the iPhone14 Pro series is “3 weeks to 4 weeks” for iPhone14 Pro and “4 weeks to 5 weeks” for iPhone14 Pro Max, which is about a week shorter than before. It has been out of stock since it was released.
