  1. There’s adults playing this game? Adults with what, an IQ of 65?

Stupid. When I was 6 I was playing midtown madness and the original world of Warcraft on the original PlayStation. Diddy kong racing, Zelda on game boy and n64, Star Wars pod racer.

This… is dumbing down the mistakes I mean kids of this era.

  2. I might be hired next week as a Roblox developper. I'm a programmer/developper, and it seems like Roblox is only continuing to grow. Its an industry . Thanks for letting me know what I'm getting into 😅

  3. Before all of you internet grandpas start to say roblox is a dumpster fire shithole, let me say something first.
Roblox is basically steam without the need to download any games (except the roblox game launcher) and has many games with great graphics and gameplay. Although you might have to sort through the crap.
What im trying to say is that Roblox isnt great, isnt bad, just ok.

  4. Roblox (/ˈroʊblɒks/) is an online game platform and game creation system developed by Roblox Corporation that allows users to program games and play games created by other users. Created by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel in 2004 and released in 2006, the platform hosts user-created games of multiple genres coded in the programming language Lua. For most of Roblox's history, it was relatively small, both as a platform and as a company. Roblox began to grow rapidly in the second half of the 2010s, and this growth has been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.[7][8]

Roblox is free to play, with in-game purchases available through a virtual currency called Robux. As of August 2020, Roblox had over 164 million monthly active users, including more than half of all American children under 16.[9][10] Although Roblox has received generally positive reviews from critics, it has faced criticism for its moderation and microtransactions and accusations of exploitative practices directed toward children.

Not to be confused with Robox.

  6. Pedos love these games to talk with our kids no matter never trust anything you didn’t create. Stay on top of ALL this! Just saw a lady complaining about some adult talking to her kids in private rooms

  7. Thank you for this overview! I am a nineteen-year-old whose father is asking her to play Roblox for his upcoming interview with the company but… he's asking a MINECRAFT player to play a game that she doesn't want to play on incredibly short notice. I hate to compare the two, since it is clear that they are pretty different despite both being sandbox games with online functionality and ways for people to connect, but based on what I've seen I still prefer Minecraft. It's the fact that you have to pay real money (more often than not) to get Avatar Customization options that turns me away from Roblox. If I'm going to spend hard-earned cash on something, it's gonna be something that I care about like food or a present for my cousin, not an in-game currency. (Minecraft Bedrock does the same thing, I know, but at least there is an option to use a version of the game that doesn't have that functionality. i.e. Minecraft Java)

  8. Here's an example of a roblox game in which most (good) players are not kids: Deepwoken (RPG game)
It costs 400 robux (5$) and the new voice chat setting would make you feel nostalgic of old COD lobbies when killing other players
There are almost no gamepasses and it is a permadeath game, meaning if you die 3 times, all the progress you have made in the last hours/days is gone.

  9. Roblox is a massively multiplayer online game platform that has grown tremendously since its launch in 2006. The platform allows users to create, design, and play their own games, making it a popular choice for kids and teenagers around the world. In this essay, we will explore the history of Roblox, the features and benefits of the platform, and its impact on the gaming industry.

Roblox was founded in 2004 by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel under the name "Dynablocks." The company was renamed Roblox in 2005 and launched its beta version in 2006. The platform quickly gained popularity among children and teenagers, with its user base growing from 100,000 in 2006 to over 100 million active users in 2020.

One of the key features of Roblox is its user-generated content. The platform allows users to create their own games using a block-based programming language called Lua. This means that users can design and build their own virtual worlds, characters, and game mechanics. They can also share their creations with other users, who can then play and rate their games.

In addition to user-generated content, Roblox also offers a variety of pre-built games that users can play. These games range from action and adventure games to role-playing and simulation games. Some of the most popular games on the platform include Adopt Me!, Jailbreak, and MeepCity, which have all been played by millions of users.

Roblox also allows users to customize their own avatars, which can be used across all games on the platform. This means that users can create unique characters that reflect their personal style and preferences. The platform also offers a social aspect, allowing users to interact with each other in virtual worlds and chat rooms.

One of the benefits of Roblox is that it encourages creativity and problem-solving skills in children and teenagers. By allowing users to create their own games and virtual worlds, the platform helps to develop their imagination and innovation. It also teaches them programming skills as they learn to use Lua to build their games.

Another benefit of Roblox is that it is a safe and moderated platform for children and teenagers. Roblox has a team of moderators who monitor user activity and content to ensure that it is appropriate for all ages. The platform also offers parental controls and privacy settings to help parents manage their children's use of the platform.

Roblox has had a significant impact on the gaming industry, particularly in the area of user-generated content. The platform has inspired other game developers to incorporate user-generated content into their games and has shown the potential for community-driven game development. It has also opened up new opportunities for young game developers to showcase their skills and build a career in the gaming industry.

In conclusion, Roblox is a massively multiplayer online game platform that has become a popular choice for kids and teenagers around the world. Its user-generated content, pre-built games, social aspect, and moderated environment make it a safe and creative platform for children and teenagers to explore their imagination and develop their programming skills. Its impact on the gaming industry has been significant, paving the way for community-driven game development and inspiring young game developers to pursue a career in the industry.
