The Future of Call of Duty is Mobile

ATVI Microsoft Merger:
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is currently struggling to maintain a player base. Warzone 2 is doing much better. However, CoD Mobile is getting more popular every day! CoD Mobile is also making a very similar amount of money with less required investment. I think the future of CoD will be a lot more like CoD Mobile and less like MW19.

  1. Comparing the steam and console numbers for MW2 (A paid game) wituh Mobile (a free game) is quite apples to oranges in my opinion that has more variables affecting it than just the platform

  2. i just want the futuristic weapons like the R70 Ajax, Banshii, DIY 11 Renovator, and the LV8 Basilisk. i liked using the SKS, Chain SAW and the FFAR, but haven't tried yet for the new argus and skorpion EVO

  3. PC gaming and handhelds will probably merge in that chart and we will see more growth due to handheld pcs growing in popularity because amd is already working closely with the handheld pcs and mini pcs in mind with their onboard graphics.

  4. The reason iOS is the dominant platform for mobile is because devs dont need to build multiple different versions of the same app, they just need to build one app that works on all iPhones that meet minimum specs. It's got nothing to do with people hating Android and having more money, wtf?

  5. Codm is just a great game to jump into for me whos always working or worried about these crazy kids taking over my house lol. Can play on the phone hook it up to the tv its great for work. Good for when im im lulls with other games. It's really gotten me ok with mobile gaming. I am a green text guy so i have so many things laying around im able to play it on too lol

  6. Cod mobile has similar transactions to something like advanced warfare and that was a full $60 game, the transactions are even tamer on codm i think cod should just go free to play and create one crossplay game across pc mobile and console

  7. And we gotta remember cod mobile looks nothing like the resolution on social media videos. They just added “ super resolution” mode for some smartphones on their new update and the visuals are crazy. Doesn’t feel like a mobile game anymore

  8. Its actually alot likely to be with in the next 5 years because of amds apus rdna3 780m is comparable to a 1050 rdna 4 with come next year and be closer to a 2060 and then 3 years later it will be closer to 3000 series and then 4000 series with in 5 years all built into the apus and that doesn't mean we couldnt just use 2 at the same time even sooner so gpus with be come a thing of the past soon i believe. By 2030 your phone will be all you will need and my proof of this would be that mobile phone companies are starting to use amd with there built in apus for there smartphones.

  9. I think you hit the nail on the head on pretty much everything, as soon as smartphones became as powerfull as consoles people realized that you can game on it pretty comfortably.
One thing i thought about though is the dev cost you mentioned; i dont think that its a fair comparison between console/pc titles and cod mobile/fortnite/pubg since pretty much all assets in these games already existed beforehand, porting the assets over to mobile is a lot easier than creating them and a lot more cost efficient. I think a fairer comparison would have been the cost of developing a game that is exclusively on mobile and made from scratch vs the pc/console titles you mentioned.
    Great vid Drift0r 😀

  10. I just cant see myself enjoying COD mobile over console COD. Ive never played mobile but i cant imagine its super user friendly and easy to actuate controls.

  11. MW22 isn't doing well on consoles because players are getting sick and tired of the same old copy/paste cashgrabs being churned out every single year.

That's why community projects like SM2, IW4X, and Plutonium have gained so much traction over the years, and that's why Activision is striking them down, because they were offering refuge from the never-ending spew of unrewarding Battle Passes, overpriced cosmetics, and pay-to-win weapons.

  12. Oh yeah and CoD Mobile & PUBG has ZERO ads, which is sweeeet af.
    Love you Drift0r!
Apex Mobile was freaking amazing too but it's been cancelled unfortunately

  13. So glad you decided to talk about this again!
Oddly enough Senpai, everything you aren't a fan of has been addressed on CoD Mobile, you can invert your look, you can use your PS4 or Scuff to play if you don't like the touch screen play. I was like you and worried about pay to win but like you said there is just an insane amount of content in the game, so you don't have to spend money to be competitive.
I'm really impressed with how far they've came. The best statement I can make about current CoD Mobile, it's like the equivalent to CoD Online in China, except like you said it's really fan service based and I love that. I can use the MSMC on Hijacked, then jump over and use the Man-O-War on Standoff and it just feels nice tbh.

  14. But is COD mobile popular because of the platform or because of the decisions the developers are making? I think it's the latter. With the move to games becoming live service I think the real future is cloud gaming, and mobile will be a part of that as games become platform agnostic. Eventually there won't be a "COD mobile" there will just be COD and you can play it on your phone or PC or whatever.

  15. The TTK in COD mobile is so satisfying……there's so many things I love about the idea of combining all the things that COD mobile does and and giving me a "console" version like I believe COD (China) was then I'm all for it.

  16. The chart at the start is enough to not need to watch whatever is in this video. So lets just completely alienate half of all gamer's because of some insufficient research. This is like saying, a little more than half of the the kids like blocks. The the remaining like puzzles. So lets just focus on the inferior majority of our species.

  17. Honestly cod mobile microtranctions is fairly balanced. $5 battlepass gives you insane gun blueprints which is comparable or even better than most cod pc mastercrafts. There's also this crate thing like BO3/4 which would probably cost you around $20-$50. Then there's the big boy $150 lucky draws which contains over the top things. Honestly most people are content with battlepass gun blueprints.

  18. Unfortunately it is probably gonna be the case, the general gaming future is uncertain as a whole which will make it quite interesting to see what happens, as at some point we're gonna run out of recycling games like yearly sports games or yearly copy paste cods so it'll be an interesting case to see how they adapt. Wonder what they mean with handhelds,as there's this new wave of handheld devices like steamdeck n such so that's also intriguing. Quite cool to see how the charts reflect eras of kinds of gaming, from arcades, to consoles which are steady ish, to handhelds like psp and pc I think getting more attention now with it just being much more accessible and so on(plus increasing performance gaps) and then the last decade mobile. As for android vs ios, obviously as you said does have a part to do with it, but mobile gaming will focus more on ios optimization as it is a much more streamlined system experience to build on. Great opinion and informative vid as usual, good to see it all coming back a bit.

  19. Codm is actually really fun. But it's still cod so expect to rage. If you don't get angry and like cod it's just a win for you. The skins are crazy over priced tho.

  20. There’s no ads …you can customize the controls and sensitivity any way you want ..micro transactions are there but never necessary….there’s nothing “pay to win “. ..it’s just fun and good
