Compiling and Installing ARM64 native OBS Studio on M1 MAC (Apple Silicon) | M1 Max/Pro/Air

Pre-requisites:
– Use the arm64 terminal.
– Have brew installed in /opt/homebrew prefix.

Run these commands in sequence to compile OBS:

brew install gcc x264 cmake freetype mbedtls swig qt5 ffmpeg ccache packages
echo ‘export PATH=”/opt/homebrew/opt/ccache/libexec:$PATH”‘ » ~/.zshrc
echo ‘export PATH=”/opt/homebrew/opt/qt@5/bin:$PATH”‘ » ~/.zshrc
cd
mkdir -p build && cd build
git clone –recursive
cd obs-studio
./CI/build-macos.sh -b -p
cd build
open .

Once all of the above commands are executed, Finder will open up. Double click the dmg file there and drag it to the Applications folder and boom 💥 you have m1 native OBS on your system now!

These commands have been adapted from this article: https://www-kilinbox-net.translate.goog/2021/02/obsarmbuild.html?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp
