– The Apple AirPods Max is the Cupertino company’s ‘one last thing’ to their ‘one more thing’ of the year. And at $550 US, which is around $800 CAD, they are already sold out. At the price of an Xbox Series X or a Playstation 5 gaming system, they have already garnered all the attention that Apple planned for. But that attention isn’t exactly the positive kind.
The response has been somewhat polarizing, not just because of the wallet splitting price. This has some tech journalists, even Apple die-hards, wondering what this money pays for? Even worse, unlike premium BlueTooth headphones already on the market, features such as Apple’s Spatial Audio will only work on their products such as iPhones and iPad. That means that anyone spending the money and pairing it with other devices will not get the most impressive features they paid for.
To help us understand if Apple is out of their minds or simply manipulating our minds, we called on Brian Jackson, a tech analyst from Info-Tech Research Group. But even he has a hard time making heads or tails of this latest product.
