Tim Cook Calls On Suppliers To REDUCE Emissions By 2023..

Welcome back to Primary Tech. Tech giant Apple tells major suppliers that they need to cut carbon impact by 2030 and expands investments in clean energy and climate solutions. Apple has issued something of a wake-up call to manufacturing partners around the world as it aims to clean up its supply chain and tackle climate change. Sustainability is clearly high on the agenda for CEO Tim Cook.

Apple likes to talk big about its carbon-neutral efforts, but how true are the company’s claims? Everyone knows iPhones aren’t cheap. But although they can definitely put a dent in your savings, the cost to the environment might be even higher. Apple says that 70% of its carbon emissions come from manufacturing alone. And Compare and Recycle estimates that iPhone manufacturing in 2022 alone will generate a mind-boggling 17 megatons of CO2 emissions. However, the environmental impact of the iPhone starts long before the assembly line. Check this video out!
