The Sims 4 on the 2021 MacBook Pro 14″ M1 Max | Part 1

Hello people,

Here’s a clip of gaming The Sims 😀 on the 2021 MacBook Pro 14″ M1 Max

It’s not my go-to of gams, so basically I didn’t know what should I do with the game 😛

Here are the specs for the 2021 MacBook Pro:
MacBook Pro 14″ space gray
Apple M1 Max 10 cores
32 core of GPU power
64 GB of unified memory
2TB SSD Storage

It’s a beast laptop.

Let me know in the comments if you would like to see a specific game or application run on this laptop

Cheers

  1. Hello – thank you for this video it is very helpful. I am looking at getting the new M2 Macbook Air 13" and I am wondering if you think the sims 4 would run well on that? Would it work better if I bought a version with 16GB or 24GB RAM instead of the base 8GB? Currently I have a 2018 Macbook Air 8GB RAM no M1 chip even and sims 4 runs but I can't have all the settings as high or very high because it lags too much so I'm wondering if having more RAM would allow that to work better or if just having the M2 chip would be enough. Thanks in advance if you are able to respond to this

  2. Kinda unrelated question, but did you build that house yourself? Also do you know if it's in the library or somewhere I can find it? Loved the video, cheers!

  3. If rosetta dies EA will be forced to port it on M1* properly and it will run soo good. (It happened to the Sims 3 32 bit version too, hope this will not take as long as sims 3 update did .

  4. Did you previously use the Mac Pro 13 2020? That’s what I’m currently using primarily for The Sims (with a literal pound of CC 😆) and video editing and I’m wondering if the upgrade would be beneficial.

  5. Thanks so much for testing this! The video I was waiting for. 🙂 a few follow-up questions:
    1. Did you have this set to max graphic settings? I can see in your settings that it says “custom” and I wondered how it runs on “ultra”.
    2. How is the fan noise? When do they kick in/do they get noisy?
    3. Does the machine get very hot?
    4. Do you think performance will decrease significantly if using the 14” M1 Max with 24 GPU cores and 32GB memory?
    Thank you!

  6. Here's the fix for the shifted mouse clicks:
Look for The Sims 4.app in Applications. Right-click the app > Get Info. Then check the box for "Scale to fit below built-in camera"Look for The Sims 4.app in Applications. Right-click the app > Get Info. Then check the box for "Scale to fit below built-in camera"
