no backlight keyboard – two years old processor. Microsoft is Microsoft.
touchscreen is idiotic.
I am not interested in MacOS but this Surface has 2 deal breakers that even my Surface go does not have (no backlit keyboard and no pen input). It's a pass for me, although I like the size and form factor

What’s wild to me is that a 3y old MacBook kinda smokes a now/recent Surface.

I've owned two Surface laptops over the years and was pleased with the build quality, but I am running a MacBook these days because, IMHO, I think they offer superior quality.
Pinch to zoom in Final Cut Pro is a disaster. I think it's more FCP than the trackpad, because other apps work fine.
Surface Laptop Go 3 and Surface Go 3 are two different products… It's not your fault. I wanted videos about The new laptop, and all I can see is the tablet version. Other than this, great job. Cool videos. (this is the laptop but the title is wrong)
The reason for the smaller difference in performance of Minecraft compared to Tomb Raider is that Minecraft depends on single core performance and Tomb Raider on GPU performance.

Apple MacBooks are the best for the price. The specs MacBooks (Pro) offers is not available anywhere with Windows laptop (MS or Dell or otherwise). But there is a caveat. If one wants to use corporate or business or proprietary software or software developed with intel or certain chipsets in mind, then there is no choice but to use Windows. Otherwise Apple is the best.
W.r.t support, with Apple the support is assured for software and hardware while for Windows its ….. Dell does not support software issues. So are others. MS does not have dedicated centers for hardware all places like Apple or Dell has. So island users Apple is the best – software reliability, no major virus related issues, excellent ecosystem, great software (other than OS), great support, …etc.
For those complaining about cost of support, please note here in India, Dell does not support consumer laptops outside of warranty and treats such customers with contempt and are directed to some third party repair shops though Dell has a manufacturing in India. Besides, if one gets support then it costs a bomb to repair just about anything. So when compared to that Apple is the best.
All I will add is if Apple changed there bottom of ANY of there Macs people would go ape s**t, I prefer my all Aluminium Macs, definitely for the prices I pay,
