How to permanently fix your Mac if your kernel task is using a high percentage of your CPU or Memory.
Kernal Task is responsible for managing the heat of your computer, so if it starts to get too hot it starts to throttle your processor to slow down the computer so it doesn’t overheat and break.
To fix this, I was able to get external fans to put under my laptop to keep the kernel_task from using all of the CPU keeping my other programs running smoothly.
Man, I thought you were gunna get technical and provide some education and insight how to actually fix the root of the problem. Oh well.
My macbook air is cool but still I have this issue
Hello,
I have a Macbook pro 2019 i9 overheating and kernal_task was eating up all CPU resources.
The fix for me was disconnecting a Ugreen multiport dongle, which was overheating like hell by itself.
Now I am using individual USB C to HDMI and USB C to USB A converters instead of the large dongle and the problem has been resolved so far.
You could have said cooling fan at the start.
Ohh my solution was sell my 2013 model and bought Pro 14” 😂 oh well this one is smoother and better sound haha but to be honest was due an upgrade so no regrets Macs last wayyyyy longer that Windows so I’m good for next 10 years 😂
Apple is really going downhill
If nothing works replace the cable between the touchpad and the logic board. It worked for my 2015 MacBook Pro (15")
Brooo
Ok I got the fans. Just wondering where to get power from when I am on the bus?
seriously wtf
It ended up using as much as 21,377.9% CPU today. Crazy. Was unable to even move the mouse during those extreme high periods of kernel-task fkup.
Thanks bro…love you bro…xoxo…
