  1. What if Apple licenses the x86-64 chip instruction set and includes several x86 cores to do the job of Rosetta? Best of both worlds? I'm surprised Apple never released an AMD mac.

  2. What if they plan to release the next Mac Pro with their own load of component, meaning you could still customize your Mac Pro, but by buying only apple custom product ?
Might also benefit their transition Mac Pro too. Thoughts @MaxTechOfficial ?

  3. to think all those rumours reported by this channel as “confirmed”. as if “confirmed” means anything other than two reputable speculators both suggesting the same thing.

  4. The only issue I see with the M2 Mac Pro is the lack of expandable RAM. If Apple somehow managed to have it support at least a quad-channel high-speed DDR5, it would already be a great thing to have. Without more than 192GB of system memory, it really isn't that good of a machine for people who do a ton of RAM intensive work, the speed of the unified memory simply can't in no way compensate for the lack of amount of it. The reason the M2 Mac Pro turned the way it did is simply because Apple hadn't yet made it work with expandable RAM, but we'll be getting that with the future Mac Pro, which will be an insane machine with up to twice as much CPU/GPU cores as the M2 Ultra alongside twice as much of integrated system memory or even more of all that and with support for expandable DDR5 RAM spread over at least six-channels to give it as much bandwidth as possible. There's no way Apple will be abandoning the Mac Pro, the solution just needs some more work and the Mac Pro market is something Apple doesn't wanna miss out on as that's where they can really push the pricing far. Sure, it's stupid that Apple had even decided to release an Apple Silicon Mac Pro the way they released this just for the sake of completing the transition by rushing it, but oh well, they did and are still doing far more stupid things, just look at the Magic Mouse.

  5. Maybe they are still trying to figure out the redesign of Mac Pro but they knew they already passed the plan of 2 years transition to Apple Silicon and they just release this to buy themselves more time to redesign it?

  6. Let’s face it, Tim puts the order in to CHINA. We wait and get janky stuff. The M2 Ultra Mac Studio will be my last device from this WOKE company.

  7. Apple is definitely going to ditch the Mac Pro and go all in on unified memory and SoC. The pressure from the OS team to get rid of the Mac Pro must be intense. Imagine if they did release a proper new Mac Pro and had to potentially support external everything: non-unified RAM, non-integrated GPU, PCI-E, just for one $7000 product. The OS team probably wants to get rid of all that code as soon as support for Intel is dropped from macOS in a few years and focus on optimizing for Apple Silicon.

  8. the 2019 should be still updated fully till around 2027.

but i do think the old macs can run better than some new basic heardwere
i know my old old 5,1macpro uses a lot of power but i still see the tests beat new basic or mid range computers of today or from 2019.

i think apple have taken a large step back with the 2023MacPro and many should stick with the 2019 till its no longer updated via softwere.
cant wait to see how many old 2019 become an emptyshell and is sold for the case as parts.
i bet somone will make a hackintosh with it even after apple stop supporting intel chips.

  9. Let's say Apple is able to make an SOC on M3 with 144 GB memory, up 50% as M2 was from M1 and get some very fast SSDs for the SOC, they would by fusing 4 M2 SOCs get 576 GB of memory, with increased bandwith and SSDs running at DDR4 speed, they could get a unified memory that would match or exceed the 1.5 TB on the intel MacPro and they would get so many and so fast graphics cores, that they would give the AMD stand alone graphics cards a good run for their money. This 4 fused SOC would probably not come to the Mac Studio, only the MaPro intended for the really high end clientel.

  10. So the gist of this video is “we believed a load of unrealistic rumours and feel unhappy we didn’t get that “magical” machine”. Surely that’s your issue rather than Apples?

  11. I really do hope that you are wrong! I personally am still happy i got a 16-core Mac Pro from 2019 with 96GB of RAM. I can still add in more RAM or add in new GPU's. I think the M2 Ultra Mac Pro is a waste. Even though it has PCI-E, it doesn't really do anything. It can't even use full bandwidth if you put in more than 2 cards. Which is actually a bit stupid since it's PCI-E 4.0 now!

I'm keeping my intel Mac Pro. And if it gets too old and Apple doesn't do anything with the Mac Pro anymore. I guess it's time to switch again to Windows after more than 15yrs. of having switched from Windows to Mac.

  12. Imagine a smaller Mac Pro style case, but not a computer, just literally a powered, external PCIe box which can be used with a Mac Studio, surely the bandwidth via Thunderbolt is nearly on par? Now imagine that same external PCIe box, but with an "UltraFusion" link built in, that can link MULTIPLE Mac Studios together, utilizing the power of multiple Mac Studio' M2/M3 Ultra chips, effectively doubling, trippleing or quadrupling your CPU power, your GPU power and your ram. @MaxTechOfficial 😉

  13. I doubt Apple even knows. Once again Apple forgets the effect of having a halo product. Glad to have a 2019 model to run into the ground, but do not want a mac studio. I don’t trust the thermal capacity. As someone in south Florida, it’s much hotter and more humid that Apple seems to consider when engineering their products. I just don’t trust that roided up mac mini to have the cooling needed to work for sustained periods. Really bummed MPX was abandoned almost immediately. I think for the top tier pros Apple should stick with the post trash can method of explaining their development cycle just enough to let their prosumers and pros plan their purchases out since one badly timed buy could be enough to sour them on the brand for decades. Just come out and say you can’t get MPX on Apple Silicon yet so stay tuned. Or better yet, Apple Silicon should have been an MPX module.

  14. I highly doubt Apple will ever go for a replaceable mobo. That’s the most expensive part of the computer, making it pointless. I have been thinking that sub cards for the SoCs would be possible. But would Apple really go that route? I don’t know. I do see a possibility of allowing more than one module. As far as RAM goes, we’ll, it’s certainly possible to have upgradable RAM, despite the negative talk about that. While it would take sone work, it’s really just an extension to the current fabric. RAM now is not in due, or chip, but on that small board. So it’s certainly possible.

  15. Still doesn't make any sense. Why did they develop Mac Pro instead of openly abandoning it? Saying "hi, look at this Mac Pro. A beautiful shape, isn't it? But this is a history now" would cost them much less than creating this product that doesn't fit anyone…

  16. Totally wrong. If Apple was going to just exit the tower market, they would have done so right now. No need to make this machine is that was the plan. I think this is a stop gap machine where we will likely see real separation with an M3 Extreme that can't be used in anything else. For whatever reason, the M2 Extreme just didn't work out. Apple probably couldn't continue producing the Intel Mac Pro for a number of reasons, including likely getting components for a 4+ year old design. I still hope out hope that we will see PCI 5 and maybe Thunderbolt 5 in the next iteration. That would be something to upgrade for, but much of that tech would also be available for the entire Mac lineup. The fact that this machine is still PCI 4 means that the M2 wasn't a huge leap but a refinement of the existing M1 platform, which was already PCI 4 as well.

  17. M3 coming in 8 months. Will be one of the first macs to get m3. Studio will be a year behind. They released this version so people won’t hesitate on getting a studio and wait for the unknown Mac Pro.
