4. I don’t know why but the viewfinity s9 display en my country costs only 1000 dollars (Chile). I think is the best deal 😮

5. Having a remote to set the brightness and volume is simply idiotic.

The sad thing is that my biggest issue with the apple studio display and the LG 5k display before it wasn’t even the price (tho I cringe at that too), it was that apple can’t be bothered to put a damn display port or hdmi port on it, which makes it useless with the eGPU on my iMac. At least the Samsung has the display port, but at the moment it’s a $300 plastic monitor that they want the same price as apple’s studio display for because they put “smart” apps in the thing that literally NOBODY wanted (no one is going to buy this and not plug it in to a computer that can stream content way better than the monitor apps can).

   If Samsung has just made this overpriced instead of obscenely overpriced I’d maybe look past that (I mean at least, unlike apple, they include a display port and vesa mount screw anchors), but really hard to drop $1600 on a plastic monitor when the 4k plastic 28” equivalent is $250.

   Sigh. I’d pay a premium for 5k, if anyone made one that had a normal standard video port or that wasn’t a cheap plastic thing for 5x the price of cheap plastic monitors.

11. 0:42 This viewfinity is not the first 'retina' PC monitor. There have been a few 5K monitors a couple of 8K over the last decade or so. HiDpi wasn't Apple/Mac only feature. The usual LTT research quality on display.

12. just got the apple studio display a week ago which is what i am using at the office and yep.. wouldn't go for other brands when the first reason i bought the studio display is due to i have already been impress with the studio display.. for adjustment you can basically get the vesa option and buy a 20-30 bucks vesa mount

14. It all have started With the Samsung M8… Yes it's only 4K, but it's 4K and looks like Apple designed it. I have one for work and Im so glad I bought it. Nowadays it goes on sale quite often. So buy it if you can 🙂

15. So what about a 27" 2560×1440 displays? That would be half the resolution of the Studio Display, so no scaling would take place, right?

22. You forgot the lg ultrafine line, however the lg 4k revised model breaks the resolution.

23. Call me crazy, but the Idea that Apple can sell a Mac without properly considering the monitors people will use with it is 100% just bad design.

27. It’s incredible the totally real, not at all astroturf people, coming out of the woodwork to loudly tell us they prefer the glossy displays that come with Apple. The same glossy displays they have purely to upcharge you $300 for the actually workable matte finish. 😂

I've been looking forward to this new Samsung monitor for the past 6 months as I really need a 5K monitor for that perfect MacOS UI scaling but also beeing able to connect my Windows PC without having to get some special magic cable and having to unplug and plug in everytime I want to switch between them which would be the situation with both the Studio Display and the LG 5K… I'm just disappointed about the build quality, matte screen and now also the price being same as Studio Display, but why Samsung?? So close…

33. the price makes no sense, the samsung seems specifically geared to fight the studio display, at that price id rather get the Apple one.

36. I don't get why no manufacturers offer nice glossy monitors anymore. And please don't ship the monitors with bloat smartTV software, keep them clean and pure.

37. Ridiculously priced 😂 make it half the price of the studio display! At the current price point, I would never consider a non-Apple device.
