In this video I test to see if the Moment lenses work with the iPhone 14 Pro Max (and would also include the 14 Pro).

  1. Are these lenses catered to content creators? I’m just your regular guy that uses their phone for pictures and video while traveling and do not see any differences whatsoever

  2. I think the only one that really fared well was the anamorphic lens. I have the new tele and old super wide and an iPhone 11 Pro, and even there the IQ is just average. Gonna upgrade to a 14 Pro now, 58 on 3x lens might still be useful for concerts but I think little else

  3. I am considering if I can also daily use the Smallrig cage. Sir, will the rig affect iPhone’s cell signal or Wi-Fi receiving? Also, overall, is the rig durable? Thank you! By the way, this is a very informative video!👍

  4. Thanks for a very useful video. I'm using a iPhone 13 pro and have found that the Moment 18 and 58 really don't work all that well. The 1.33 anamorphic works pretty ok. I now don't bother with carrying the Moment lenses unless I want to use the anamorphic. Combined with the fiddly filter arrangement I'm rather disappointed with the Moment offerings.

  5. Great review. Perhaps using each, especially the 18mm, in a vlog style video and see how the movement is effected by the larger sensor. I just did an outdoors vlog with the 18mm and it was warbled. The stills and non moving shots looked great. Once I stated walking the environment was wavy and shifting in a bad way. All this was done in the default camera app. Hope this helps.

  6. I could not get the Moment Macro lens to focus and I also found their case very inconvenient.
I prefer the Shuttermoon lenses, they work great with my iPhone 14 and the quality is pretty much the same. The only difference is the price.

  7. Does "Cinematic Mode" filming on the Pro Max work with the anamorphic lens attached or does the anamorphicism (my word – haha) mess up the AI brains doing the cinematic focusing stuff?

  8. The 2X and the lens has a much more natural looking image, but too sharp otherwise.
Shame not to put the 2X without the zoom, because I think it might be better to work with 2X always, and so the 18mm would totally be necessary also.
    12MP is a magic number and the 2X is a 12MP shot.
Definitely the Anamorphic is the one that gives you something the phone can't.
The 58mm I'd want for the 100mm effect with the 2X.
    So all relevant for me.
From this, I find they all work but love the 2X image the most.
    It's not so naturally sharp.
    Thank for this video!

  9. Great review at 2:08 i don’t know if you were trying to make that point with video or just a general point but I do have to say with the 48 mp is only on photos videos still use the 12 MP as well as even the 2X on main lens when taking photos but yeah thanks for this video and comparing them

  10. I have all three of those lenses and find 18mm and 58mm okay on my iPhone Pro Max, however there is terrible vignetting on the anamorphic lens that makes it unusable as it looks trashy, I am using a moment case 3D printed adaptor so not sure if there is an alignment issue. I don't understand why your images do not show vignetting with the anamorphic lens. Can you please give me your opinion why?

  11. hello, i have a question for you, can you tell me if the reverse works, anamorphic 1.55 by small rig works on moment lens case? Thanks for the video ! thumb up

  12. Thanks for your review. Softness was what I worried for this year since they were getting worse from iphone 12 series. This lenses are designed for small sensors like iphone 7 or 8. First version was released in 2014-15 and this was renewed in 2017 if I remember correctly. Doesn’t make sense they still sell these old lenses.

  13. I had XS and with 58mm, it worked. When I bought the iPhone 14 pro and took shots with 58mm, I noticed a lot kf softness in the pictures. I sent email to moment re: softness of 58mm with iphone 14 pro vs pictures without 58mm in a well lit controlled setup. They confirmed that there lenses are outdated and they do not offer lifetime warranty for the product. Sad to say they do not even care anymore. So I bought Sandmarc 58mm for iPhone 14pro and was very pleased by the sharpness of the lens.
