Apple released macOS Monterey 12.0.1 for all the supported Mac computers. Along with newer Macs, some older Mac computers got this update as well. In this video, I am discussing about all the new features, performance, battery life and issues about this update from the perspective of an older Mac computer. I am showing what features this Mid 2017, 13-inch MacBook Air got, such as, new wallpapers, finder path update, voice memo update, safari browser update, new maps, podcast app update, system wide translation, new messages feature, new FaceTime call features, new control centre layout, new notifications and more.   2. Hey, how is it running now? I tried it 2 days ago and I saw worst battery than Catalina, (both fresh installed). So I came back to Mojave this time. With Monterey (2 days after instal) I was loosing 14-12% battery in safari per hour and with Mojave I loosing 9-10% per hour with almost no heat ( sometimes one ore two kernel panics and that’s all). I just need a laptop for internet things and school stuff (medicine) and I’m still in this dilemma, should I reinstall Monterey or keep Mojave…. (Monterey will still be supported for more than a year now).
    What do you think? Is it worth the upgrade considering the fact that it will no gain all the features (sidecar, universal control, low power mode…)?

  7. Hi, I am an MA 2017 user and am using Monterey 12.4. But mine is running slowly and is so laggy when I switch my cursor. I think it would be better when I am downgrading to Big Sur. Please for another MA 2017 user, tell me the same condition with me?

  8. When I updated from Catalina to BigSur some years ago, my MA 2017 no longer turned on. I eventually had it repaired at a shop and it turns on again. However, it needs to be plugged in whenever I use it and the startup time takes so long. I’m contemplating on updating the to Monterey because of what happened.

  10. hi bro i also have a macbook air 2017 my scrolling is very choppy in all apple apps and while split screen whenever i try to adjust the screen that thing is also laggy which is very annoying can u plz help me bro🙏🙂
    edit- and while watching vids in fullscreen when i move my cursor the display flick for like 1 sec and then it get back to normal plz help bro🙂🙏

  25. I updated my MA 2017 to Big Sur and faced severe battery drain issues. So I downgraded to Catalina. For the same reason, I am not updating to Monterey. Anyone else faced the same issue?
