  1. This update crashed my computer (macbook pro 2013) and I had to re-install everything fro scratch from a backup. Same thing happened with the previous update so I recommend everyone wait.

  2. Mac couldn't update it said couldn't update towards the end had to go back to 14.1 and do the fix for it from ur video to get it to work on here but 14.1.1 is not working on all macbooks

  3. I came across a rather strange problem when I enter a WordPress bus, the bus accepts Word and enters the desktop and suddenly it works a black screen and goes to the entry screen again. I entered the safe mode and I canceled the bus Word and a new user grew up the same story with the knowledge in the safe mode. In the safe mode, the bus accepts Word and enters the desktop is normal.

  4. You sure are doing a great job that us guys can still use older Macs with Apple's new operating software. Either way, it would make your job easier not to unnecessarily go into details that users may not know. Listening to your lengthy explanation is not very pleasant. Especially if you don't have much talent for storytelling. Please don't take this as an insult, I just want to help. Cheers.

  5. Successful clean install of Sonoma 14.1.1 and OCLP 1.2.0 on iMac 10,1. BT mouse and keyboard working fine after NVRAM reset. Needed USB 2 hub for Keyboard and mouse during initial install.

  6. It's OK to upgrade from 14.1. to 14.1.1 directly from MacOS (General – Software Update)? I have seen the update is 12.9GB (rather strange size). I have MacBook Pro 2016 (with TouchBar) and latest Sonoma MacOS is installed via OCLP (ver 1.2.0.)

  7. Hello,

Thank you for a superb site helping old Mac owners.

I have successfully used OCLP and your site to upgrade from Catalina, the last automatic update for my old machine. The latest warning from you was don’t upgrade to Sonoma 14.1. So I didn’t. But did try the latest 14.1.1.

Firstly downloaded oclp 1.2, then Sonoma 14.1.1. On final reboot….a grey screen, and no amount of key stressing worked.

Unplug the machine to hopefully discharge any capacitors. Did this for just over 1 minute and the machine started straight away. Re-installed the video drivers via oclp and all good.

So, again, thanks for all your help

  8. The temptation is to go for the new at first release but after not good experiences with Sonoma/OCLP I shall hold off until fully sorted or Mr Mac does the way back to Ventura video -pleeeeease 😃

  9. Hi! Thank you for enlightening me so I could upgrade my iMac 2011 to Mac OS Monterey. But I am now having some driver issues – no camera and most importantly, I use this iMac in my classroom but now I cannot do screen sharing or screen Mirroring. Are there or will there be any new patches soon? Or is there a way I can use the camera and screen sharing? Thanks

  10. Updated Macbook Air 2017 to 14.1.1 no issues here. I use OCLP 1.2.0 .I reverted patches, reboot, then connected to internet via usb lan adapter, as wifi doesn’t work without patches got the update (only 400+ megabytes), then after reboot i installed patches again and everything seems fine

  11. Sonoma 14.0 was indeed very stable and everything worked great (well except for DRM content in Safari). My mid 2015 15" MBP was last formatted to install Big Sur a few years ago, then updated to Monterey, then updated (with OCLP) to Ventura and finally updated to Sonoma 14.0. After the 14.1 was released and I heard of the issues I decided to do a clean install of 14.1. I did not have any issues with the install but the system is definitely not working well. The screensaver (the classic flurry) doesn't work and sometimes the Lock Screen is black when waking up. The OCLP 1.2.0 did not help with these issues. Apart from the issues in the unsupported computer, the 14.1 update even on supported computers created a bug in Photoshop and Illustrator (and probably other Adobe CC apps) which made working with these apps very difficult. So yes, I'm desperately waiting for 14.1.1 to fix everything! I know it fixes the bug in Adobe apps. Let's hope it will fix the issues in my MBP! Starting downloading now…

  12. MacBookAir 6,2 and MacBookPro10,1 both running OCLP 1.2.0 have been successfully updated to macOS Sonoma 14.1.1

The only issue — OCLP 1.2.0 did not automatically prompted to update OCLP drivers once Sonoma 14.1.1 came up. I had to manually start OCLP, patch up, reboot and voila — All is well!

Much appreciate Mr. Macintosh ongoing updates!!!!
