  1. Apple's world is weird. I'd understand the fuckery with the date with some obscure OS from the early '90s, but a relatively modern OS on a relatively modern hardware? Dafq?

  2. When you're messing with an ancient mac that can't install anything higher than ElCapitan it is a goddamn nightmare. Oh this installer works because?? Setting the clock does not solve the problem either.

  3. To create an El Capitan usb installer it seems you need another machine that runs El Capitan. I tried to create it with a machine that runs Monteray and can't get the pkg to run because I can't install El Capitain on a 2017 macbook pro.. obviously i don't want to install it there. i want to create a usb to install it on the machine who's hard drive has been wiped.. sheesh

  4. let me get this straight, Apple creates garbage then the garbage they create doesn't work anyways…….but its the best in the world…. or is this another one of their scenes to get you to spend more money on their garbage, like they did with the iPhones by deliberately making them lag….

  5. That few seconds you showed of your terminal – changing the date and time literally saved me today. Thank you for making this video and sharing it!! What a gift. I'm using a MacBook Air mid-2015 and Big Sur felt so slow… kept crashing and rebooting on random applications.

Wiped everything and wanted to restore El Capitan but had that same problem… was starting to think that I made a big mistake.

  6. 2015 MBPR I tried to install El Cap from USB and it failed and then it started to boot loop. Changing the date worked and voila back in business with El Cap installed and no file loss.

  7. What can i done if my macbook highest supported system is el capitan bootable usb doesnt work installer downloaded from apple dmg if i try to run it it says that it will not work :/ Late 2008 macbook pro that is supposed to support el capitan

  8. Please Crazy Ken may I have a link to download the el capitan installer that works, needed to bring my 2008-9 macbook pro back to life. I have run out of options.

  9. I’ve been trying to fix my MacBook Pro (13- 2009) with El Capitan and can’t fix it. Maybe it’s the bootable flash drive I made from Windows 10 and It didn’t work. Do I need another Mac to fix this problem or is their a solution you might know of? And I also set the date to 2015 from other videos.

  10. JESUS CHRIST i am this close to commit a hatecrime.
Please help me. So i have a MacBook Pr0 mid 2014 infront of me, the HDD died and the preowner installed a ssd. WHAT EVER i do it willnot get passed the blinking gray folder. I done everything google trew at me, most of my tries are revolving arround transmac and a new image. Problem is, nothing is happenning. No matter what i do. Bevore you ask, the system is not dead. I can boot linux from a USB drive. Any clues ? I wat to fix this one bad.
    Help.

  11. So in short, the SOLUTION is to hold down alt/option+Command+R (entering INTERNET RECOVERY MODE) directly after starting computer and letting go of keys when the search starts or when the globe thingy appears. Your mac will probably search for the latest (or first) suitable version for your mac, which is probably High OS Sierra or sometimes the version your mac came with. Simply select the MacOS version suggested and do the installation. Good luck!
