Speed Test : iPhone 6 : iOS 12 Beta 7 “The bad version” vs iOS 11.4.1 ( Build # 16A5354b)

iOS 12 Beta 7 was released yesterday but did not stay online for
long. Massive reports of slow devices started to show up on
Twitter, and I am sure also through the iOS 12 Feedback app.

I had some issues in the beginning with my test devices but
they seem to get better over time. So I decided to do the speed
test videos to see how bad this version really is.

I have seen some serious issues on my person iPhone X, and
though it gets better over time, it comes back at every reboot.

I think most serious issue seems to have been on the iPhone X
and that was the reason it was pulled. But lets test the older devices
and see how that now pulled version runs.

Conclusion :

Beta 7 is just like Beta 6, super sluggish. There are even some bad
multitasking issues on iOS 12 Beta 7. I do not think this has anything to do with why it was pulled. I do not see any difference between 7 and 6. Geekbench is faster, but most everything else is slower. Hopefully the real fixed version of iOS 12 Beta 7 will fix it.

  1. It’s really disappointing how badly the later betas are performing on the 6. I know this particular beta has genuine problems, but Apple have slid on performance since that first beta and the performance hasn’t come back. I’m pretty convinced we’re not going to see beta 1 performance in the final release. 🙁
